Meet the Director and Team — PGY1 Pharmacy Residency at Memorial Regional Medical Center
Welcome from the program director
Congratulations on beginning the residency application process! Thank you for your interest in the PGY1 Pharmacy Residency Program at Memorial Regional Medical Center in Mechanicsville, Va., which is a short commute from the Richmond metropolitan area.
Bon Secours Memorial Regional Medical Center is a 269-licensed bed community hospital that is a member of the Bon Secours Mercy Health system. Bon Secours Mercy Health is a Catholic, not-for-profit hospital system with sites in seven states and internationally and upholds five central values: human dignity, integrity, compassion, stewardship, and service.
The Memorial Regional Medical Center PGY1 program has been accredited by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists since 2009 and offers residents the opportunity to grow and develop their skills through a variety of educational experiences with experienced preceptors.
In addition to learning how to be independent, knowledgeable, and evidence-based pharmacists, residents enhance their teaching skills by providing education to other health care professionals, precepting pharmacy students and completing the Teaching and Learning Certificate program through a collaboration with the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Pharmacy.
I encourage you to learn more about the Memorial Regional Medical Center PGY1 Pharmacy Residency Program by reviewing the residency website. I hope to see your application to our program and wish you the best of luck as you continue in your pharmacy career.
