Benefits and Compensation

Salary

$58,700 — stipend is inclusive of paid expenses for select educational conferences/opportunities

Insurance

Residents are eligible for health, vision, and dental insurance

Paid Time Off

• 10 days of paid time off are available during the residency year for personal, vacation, and/or sick leave
• 7 paid holidays (residents who work on a holiday take an alternative day off as the paid holiday)
• Up to five professional leave days for attendance at the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists' Midyear Clinical Meeting
• Up to three professional leave days for attendance at local or state professional conferences
• Up to three professional leave days available for interviewing

Academic Stipend

Registration and travel expenses for the ASHP Midyear Clinical Meeting in December and residency research conference in the spring have been included in the resident stipend and are the responsibility of the resident. Additional funds are provided for continuing education presentations and conferences as needed per the discretion of residency program leadership.

The program offered the chance to build strong relationships with the team while developing my clinical skills across a wide range of specialties! Outside of Pharmacy: I enjoy creative hobbies, including baking, painting, jewelry making, and photography. I also love spending time with my cat!

What to Expect

During the 12-month program, the PGY1 pharmacy resident functions as an integral member of the multidisciplinary team, with pharmacist preceptors offering oversight and mentorship. As the resident gains experience and confidence, preceptors promote increased independence to prepare them for future practice. Rotation schedules and development plans are tailored to the resident's career goals, strengths, and areas for growth, fostering their professional development and preparing them for the next steps in their pharmacy career.

Call Schedule

Pharmacy residents are not required to participate in an on-call schedule.

Average Hours a Week

Residents work an average of 50 to 60 hours per week.
