Temporary Visitor Restrictions

In an effort to ensure the continued safety of our patients, health care workers and visitors, Bon Secours is implementing new visitation restrictions, effective Thursday, January 7, 2021.

While we will still allow one visitor per patient, per day, visiting hours will be limited to the hours of 10 am to 6 pm daily. Exceptions may be made for outpatient procedural areas where a medial companion is necessary for patients undergoing an outpatient procedure and for end-of-life situations.

The following precautions will be required of all visitors:

All visitors will have a temperature check and appropriate symptom/exposure screening prior to entry to the facility. Visitors presenting with a fever or symptoms suggestive of possible COVID-19 infection (per current CDC recommendations) will not be permitted to enter.
All visitors must comply with universal masking, hand hygiene and cough etiquette.
Visitors are encouraged to remain in patient’s rooms and to alert nursing staff when they are leaving.
No visitors will be allowed in the Emergency Room unless a medical companion is deemed necessary for patient care.

Bon Secours also continues to have a no visitor policy for COVID-19 patients and in those areas caring for potential COVID-19 patients. Visitors age 15 and under are also not allowed. Additionally, older visitors and those with comorbid conditions associated with increased risk of COVID-19 are encouraged to avoid visitation.

As we take our responsibility of caring for your loved one very seriously, we strongly recommend that entry to the Cancer Center also be reserved for patients only. However, we also understand that sometimes our patients benefit best when allowing one medical companion during their visit. Please be aware that we reserve the option to temporarily suspend visitation based on social distancing protocols, and that seating is limited throughout the Cancer Center.
