Treatments We Offer
Gastric banding is a type of laparoscopic surgical procedure that helps those deemed obese lose weight. Gastric banding, or known as adjustable gastric banding, involves making small incisions in the stomach and then wrapping a soft silicone ring with a balloon attached around it to make the stomach shrink. Post-surgery, the balloon is then inflated to fill the stomach and helps with the weight loss process.
Gastric Bypass Surgery
Gastric bypass surgery, or Roux-en-Y, is the most common type of bariatric surgery in the U.S. Performed on those that are clinically defined as obese, gastric bypass surgery involves creating a new pouch in the stomach. The new, small stomach pouch is then connected to the intestines.
Vertical sleeve gastrectomy or sleeve gastrectomy involves making small incisions within the abdomen (laparoscopy). During this procedure, nearly 80 percent of the stomach is removed. By removing part of the stomach, this helps with limiting the amount of food consumed and helping speed up the weight loss process.
