Biography

Dr. Thorp J. Davis specializes in sports medicine and shoulder, knee and arthroscopic surgery. He graduated from University of Virginia with an undergraduate degree and then entered into the School of Medicine at the University of Virginia, completing his medical degree. He then went onto his internship at Union Memorial Hospital in Baltimore, Md., and residency at the University of Virginia. Dr. Davis was then awarded a Sports Medicine Fellowship at Methodist Hospitals in Gary and Merrillville, Ind.

Dr. Davis is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He has received the Hughston Award from the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine and Richmond magazine’s “Top Doctors” award for 2013. He remains actively involved in the community by acting as the team physician for the University of Richmond and team physician for Lee Davis, Patrick Henry, and Hanover high schools.
