As a native of Richmond, Virginia I graduated from the University of Virginia in 1987 with a bachelor’s in biology. I received my medical degree from Eastern Virginia Medical School in 1991 . I completed my internship and residency at the Medical College of Virginia and joined Richmond OB-GYN in 1995. I am a fellow of the American College of OB-GYN and board certified by the American Board of OB-GYN.

	May 2025 Dr. Hicks has been my GYN since my daughter was born (24) years ago. I feel confident in her knowledge and abilities as well as her guidance.

	May 2025 Dr Hicks is the BEST!!! This IUD installation was much less painful than it has been in the past. Dr Hicks new way of numbing is a tremendous help in the procedure as far as pain goes!

	May 2025 I was made aware that Dr. Hicks was being accompanied by another doctor, and student prior to anyone coming into the room so I had time to make the decision on my preference with someone sitting in on my exam. Before the exam, Dr. Hicks listened to my concerns, and came up with a gameplan tailored to my situation. Dr. Hicks was incredibly thorough with explaining her every move, and she checked in with me every few moments to make sure I was ok, without condescension or irritation. I was reassured and respected during the exam. Afterwards, Dr. Hicks went over the next steps and thoroughly explained what I was to expect moving forward.
