- Dr. McDermott joined Advanced Orthopaedics and Hand Surgery Specialists in 1997, where he practices today as an orthopaedic hand and upper extremity surgeon. His practice focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of hand, wrist, and elbow diseases and injuries. He has specific interests in sports and occupational injuries of the upper extremity and the treatment of children with all types of upper extremity conditions. Dr. McDermott is board certified by the American Academy of Orthopaedics Surgeons with a certificate of added qualification in hand surgery. His background has provided him with considerable experience in the use of arthroscopic and minimally invasive surgical techniques as well as non-operative therapeutic and rehabilitative processes.
