Sultana Salam, MD
Dr. Sultana Salam is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in General Psychiatry and Psychosomatic Medicine. She received her medical degree from Kasr el Aini, Faculty of Medicine, in Cairo, Egypt. She completed an internship at Berbir Medical Center in Beirut, Lebanon, and her residency in psychiatry at Norwich Hospital in Norwich, Connecticut. Dr. Salam went on to complete a fellowship in consultation-liaison (C&L) psychiatry at the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond, Virginia. She has worked extensively with military veterans and active-duty servicemen/women, including the chronically mentally ill. She has taught and supervised medical students, residents, and fellows that rotated through the C&L service of the McGuire Veterans Administration Medical Center. She has participated in a number of lectures, publications, and abstracts.
