Subramanian Malaisamy, MD, MRCP (UK), FCCP (USA) is a board certified Pulmonary (Lung) Specialist in Hampton Roads, Virginia. Dr. Malaisamy sees patients with pulmonary problems such as COPD, asthma and other complex lung problems. He has a special interest in patients with sarcoidosis, interstitial lung disease, pulmonary fibrosis, pulmonary hypertension, lung cancer and performs bronchoscopy with ultrasound (EBUS).
Dr. Malaisamy earned his medical degree from Madras Medical College in Madras, India. He completed a residency in internal medicine at Yale University in Bridgeport Hospital in Connecticut and a fellowship in pulmonary and critical care through Wayne State University at the Detroit Medical Center in Michigan. Dr. Malaisamy also completed postgraduate training, including studies in internal medicine, geriatric medicine, cardiology, and neurology, at various hospitals in the United Kingdom. Dr. Malaisamy holds the prestigious diploma MRCP in general medicine from the Royal College of Physicians in London.
Dr. Malaisamy is board certified by the American Board of Critical Care Medicine, American Board of Pulmonary Medicine and American Board of Internal Medicine. He is a member of the American Thoracic Society and American College of Chest Physician.
