Shannon R. Davidson DNP, FNP-C, was born in Charleston, SC., and grew up in a Navy family, residing throughout the East Coast, until finally planting roots in Virginia Beach, VA. Shannon has lived in Richmond since 2003. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing through Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Va, and then went on to complete a Master of Science Nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner and Community and Public Health Clinical Nurse Specialist at The Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C. Most recently, she completed her Doctorate of Nursing Practice through Rush University in Chicago, IL, with an emphasis on population level health. She is certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.
Shannon has spent 8 years practicing as a Family Nurse Practitioner at VCU Medical Center with the Dept. of Neurosurgery and The Division of Plastic Surgery in the Evans-Haynes Burn Center. Prior to that, she provided bedside care as a Registered Nurse in the Burn Center and the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. She lives in Richmond with her husband and very goofy dog. In her spare time she loves to travel, try new restaurants, train for distance races, and foster rescue dogs through Richmond Animal Care and Control and Ring Dog Rescue.
Shannon joined Midlothian Family Practice in January 2016 and she practices at our Waterford office.
