Dr. Roberta Bogaev is the Chief of Cardiology at the Bon Secours Heart and Vascular Program and the Medical Director of Advanced Heart Failure and Mechanical Circulatory Support for Bon Secours. Dr. Bogaev received her mechanical engineering degree from Virginia Tech and her medical degree and training from the University of Virginia. She is board certified in cardiology and advanced heart failure. She joins us from the Texas Heart Institute where she served as the Director of Heart Failure and Transplant and later as the Director of Outreach for the Advanced Heart Failure Program. Throughout her career, Dr. Bogaev has co-authored articles, book chapters, and abstracts in her field and has been active in clinical research. Dr. Bogaev and one of her LVAD patients, “the Bionic Bride” made several appearances on the Today Show, showcasing the advanced technology of continuous flow pumps. She is passionate about prevention of heart failure, early treatment of heart failure patients, and optimizing outcomes for patients who require mechanical circulatory support.
