Dr. Hoffman is board certified in family medicine. He graduated magna cum laude from Emory & Henry College in Emory, Virginia, with a Bachelor of Science in biology. Dr. Hoffman earned his medical degree from the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine in Richmond, Virginia. He completed his residency in family practice at Silas B. Hays Army Hospital located at Fort Ord, California.
Dr. Hoffman has practiced at Chesterfield Family Practice Center since 1990 and was the director of the VCU Chesterfield Family Medicine Residency Program from 2006 to 2018. Prior to this, he served in the U.S. Army Medical Corps on active duty from 1982 to 1990 and was stationed in California and Germany. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Family Physicians, and a clinical professor at VCU School of Medicine. He has particular interests in diabetes, nutrition, and obesity.
