Dr. Mohit Jindal is an experienced board-certified gastroenterologist. He evaluates and treats adult patients with multiple gastrointestinal medical conditions including inflammatory bowel disease (Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis), gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), swallowing disorders, liver diseases, acute and chronic pancreatitis and irritable bowel syndrome. He performs preventive and diagnostic endoscopic procedures including colonoscopies, upper endoscopies, feeding tube placements, and hemorrhoid banding.
Dr. Mohit Jindal was born in Punjab, India, and grew up in New Delhi. He attended Maulana Azad Medical College in New Delhi, where he won the ‘Best Medical Student of the Year’ award multiple times. Dr. Jindal moved to New York City to earn his medical degree at the State University of New York (SUNY). He completed his internship and residency in internal medicine, as well as his fellowship in Gastroenterology at SUNY Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY. During fellowship, he presented research articles and many interesting case studies at the Annual Scientific Meetings held by the American College of Gastroenterology. During his final year he was elected by his peers to serve as the chief fellow of the program.
Following completion of his intensive medical and specialized GI training, Dr. Jindal worked briefly in Pennsylvania before relocating to Indiana. During his busy GI practice in Indiana, Dr Jindal remained involved in teaching medical students and residents. He served as an affiliate faculty member at Indiana State University and as an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Indiana University School of Medicine. Dr. Jindal joined Richmond Gastroenterology Associates in April of 2018.
He is passionate about GI health because he feels convinced that we can make a difference in the health and well-being of our patients by working together, and keeping our patients as a part of the team.
Dr. Jindal is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology, the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, and Richmond Academy of Medicine. Outside of practicing medicine Dr. Jindal enjoys swimming, tennis, traveling and watching movies. He is fluent in English, Hindi and Punjabi. He is married and has two sons, and he is delighted to call Richmond his new home.
