Michael A Caines, MD
Foot and Ankle Orthopedic Surgery
Virtual Visits Available
I am originally from Pittsburgh and admittedly enjoy the more temperate climate since relocating in 2002. I enjoy the close proximity to Washington, DC spending time with family visiting national museums and the zoo. I am board certified since 2000 and have a subspecialty in foot and ankle reconstructive surgery. Conservative nonsurgical treatment is preferable for many conditions, however, surgical treatment is provided when necessary.

Dr. Canines is wonderful. I appreciate his conservative approach. He's compassionate and approachable.
Well into treating me and very professional
DR. Cairns is a very good doctor
As always, Dr. Caines took the time to look over pertinent info in my record with regard to his recommendation to move forward. His examination of the right foot was extensive and included my demonstration of my pain and limitations to walk about the room. As such, he was able to put a surgery plan in motion to hopefully alleviate some of my restrictions. No complaints whatsoever.
Dr Caines was great. He went over my X-rays. He answered all my questions and concerns. He was knowledgeable and professional. He has a peaceful and calming presence which puts patients at ease.
Dr Caines is very caring. He explains the condition and possible treatments very well. He is not pushing and seems to truly understand my concerns.
Dr. Caines is very passionate about making sure you know all your options and includes you in the process. He explains what he plans on doing in language that you can understand.
I thought he was listening and trying to figure out my problem.
