Dr. John Sherrod obtained his Bachelor of Science degree from Hampden-Sydney College, where he played both football and tennis. He received his medical degree from Virginia Commonwealth University's Medical College of Virginia and completed his residency at the VCU-Blackstone Program. After practicing for 20 years in Virginia, Dr. Sherrod was an attending physician at the University of North Carolina's Department of Family Medicine where he established a sports health and injury clinic. Dr. Sherrod is board-certified by the American Board of Family Medicine with a Certificate of Added Qualification in Sports Medicine.
