Born and raised in Virginia, Douglas Beckwith, D.O., earned his medical degree from Eastern Virginia Medical School in 1988. Dr. Beckwith is committed to providing excellent care to patients; he believes in listening to each individual’s concerns and treating for whole body wellness. As a family physician, he sees patients of all ages – from pediatrics to geriatrics. Dr. Beckwith particularly enjoys working with diabetics, both insulin and non-insulin dependent. Dr. Beckwith believes in sharing his experience and expertise with the next generation of medical professionals; he is experienced in providing professional mentorship with medical students and nurse practitioners alike. Dr. Beckwith uses a teamwork approach in treating his patients. His philosophy is that teamwork between the physician, the medical staff and the patient provides the most effective treatment solutions.
When not in the office, you can find Dr. Beckwith woodworking on interesting projects at his home, raising Black Angus cattle, riding his Harley or spending time with his grandchildren.
