Donice B. Libby, DO
Dr. Libby earned her medical degree from the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in Erie, PA, in 2002 after receiving her bachelor degree from Washington and Jefferson College in Washington, PA, in 1998. She completed both her internal medicine internship and residency at Northside Hospital and Heart Institute in St. Petersburg, FL, in 2005 and continued on to complete an infectious disease fellowship at Virginia Commonwealth University/ MCV Medical Center in 2007.
During her Internal Medicine Residency, Dr. Libby was the Chief Internal Medicine Resident, as well as Post-Graduate Representative to the Medical Education Committee. She also served as Coordinator of the Tumor Board and was an Ethics Committee member.
Working in both inpatient and outpatient settings, Dr. Libby’s vast experience includes infection control, epidemiology, HIV, home antibiotic infusion and monitoring, and travel medicine. She also performed extensive research in the areas of C. Difficile, Staphylococcus Aureus and Staphylococcus Lugdunensis. Dr. Libby is professionally associated with the Infectious Disease Society of America, the American Society of Microbiology, and the American College of Osteopathic Internists. She is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases.
