Dr. Cohen is a graduate of Carnegie Mellon University. He completed a seven-year general surgery internship and residency at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. Dr. Cohen also completed a two-year research fellowship at the Medical College of Virginia, during which time he authored numerous scientific articles that were published in professional journals. He then completed a two-year fellowship in transplant surgery at the University of Cincinnati Hospitals. Prior to joining Bon Secours Medical Group, he served for two years as an assistant professor of surgery at Albany Medical Center. In 2002, he began practicing surgery in Richmond.
Dr. Cohen is board certified in general surgery and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. His special medical interests include general, laparoscopic, breast and vascular access.
