Dawnielle J. Kerner, MD
Dr. Dawnielle Kerner was born and raised in the Los Angeles area of California. She attended Brown University in Providence, RI obtaining a degree in Biomedical Engineering. She completed her Pre-Medical requirements at Columbia University in New York and Medical degree at Albert Einstein College of Medicine of Yeshiva University in New York. She did her glaucoma training under Dr.Singh at Stanford University in California.
Dr. Kerner is board certified with the American Board of Ophthalmologist. She founded The Ophthalmology Center in Norfolk, Virginia in 1997. She is currently Chief of Ophthalmology at Sentara Norfolk General. She works closely with the Eastern Virginia Medical School Resident Clinic at the Lions Eye Clinic at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.
She is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, Virginia Society of Ophthalmology, Medical Society of Virginia and the Academy of Ophthalmic Executives. She is highly involved in the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and captain of Team in Training
In her spare time she enjoys bicycling long distances, hiking and snow skiing with her son, Joshua and husband Norbert Kuhn. Joshua will start college this fall at Boston University.
