Christopher E Hayes, MD
Dr. Christopher E. Hayes attended Duke University for his undergraduate degree. He received his medical degree from Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine and complete his pediatric residency at The Floating Hospital for Children at Tufts Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts. In addition, Dr. Hayes completed a fellowship in pediatric gastroenterology at Brown University/Hasbro Children’s Hospital in Providence, Rhode Island. Dr. Hayes is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and Pediatric Gastroenterology.
Dr. Hayes is a member of the North American Society for Pediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition (NASPGHAN), where he sits on the Clinical Practice Committee and maintains an active focus on patient-centered care and quality improvement. He also maintains special interests in inflammatory bowel disease, short gut, and irritable bowel syndrome. In his free time, he enjoys outdoor activities and boating with his wife Rashelle and two young sons, Aaron and Tristan. Dr. Hayes is looking forward to getting reacquainted with the greater Richmond area and looks forward to working with our community of physicians.
