Amy Wilson is a board-certified family nurse practitioner. She received her associate degree in nursing from Villa Maria College of Gannon University in Erie, Pennsylvania and received her Bachelor of Science in nursing from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia. After serving as a nurse for 27 years, she received a Master of Science in nursing, family nurse practitioner, from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia.
Ms. Wilson’s clinical experience includes acute care, home care, travel nursing, outpatient surgery and she has practiced in a variety of community-based settings. She enjoys caring for patients across the lifespan and is passionate about providing high-quality affordable health care to everyone, including those in underserved and rural communities. She has volunteered with several organizations and has gone on a variety of mission trips to Jamaica, Nicaragua, Romania and Africa. While on a mission to Nicaragua she was asked to diagnose and treat patients, which led her to pursue further education and become a nurse practitioner. She is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing and the Virginia Council of Nurse Practitioners. Ms. Wilson enjoys spending time with family and friends, taking walks in the park, going to craft festivals, traveling, and going to the movies and theater.
