Dr. Wohler is board certified in general surgery and cardiothoracic surgery. He earned his medical degree from the University of Missouri School of Medicine in Columbia, Missouri, and completed a surgical internship and a general surgery residency at Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, D.C. Dr. Wohler then completed a cardiothoracic surgery fellowship at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York, New York.
Dr. Wohler is an experienced cardiothoracic surgeon who performs a full range of cardiac surgical procedures. He has worked as an attending surgeon for cardiothoracic surgery at several different hospitals in the New Jersey/New York area and has participated in several cardiac program initiatives including minimally invasive (or thoracoscopic) left atrial appendage closure; Hybrid Laparoscopic, Trans-Diaphragmatic Radio-Frequency Ablation Program for Atrial Fibrillation; and the ECMO/VAD program. Dr. Wohler has participated in numerous research projects and publications, and presentations. He has also served as a mentor to medical students and general surgery residents. He is a member of the American College of Surgeons and the Society of Thoracic Surgeons.
