Fauquier Health has become a network partner of Bon Secours, establishing the health system’s first hospital presence in Northern Virginia. The transaction, first announced in August following the signing of an asset purchase agreement with Lifepoint Health, officially closed Nov. 1, 2026, expanding the Bon Secours network’s statewide hospital footprint to 12.

Fauquier Health is a 97-bed acute care community hospital serving Fauquier County and the broader Warrenton region. As a network partner of Bon Secours, Fauquier Health will continue serving the community with the same physicians, providers, nurses and care teams that patients know and trust. The hospital is expected to continue its current services and operations, subject to ordinary-course operational and strategic decisions, with no anticipated interruption to patient care.

"Today is a new day for Fauquier Health and an important milestone for Bon Secours in Virginia," said Mike Lutes, state president of Virginia, Bon Secours. "Fauquier Health has deep roots in the community and a strong foundation to build on, and we’re excited to bring the strength and resources of Bon Secours to support its future. At the same time, establishing our first hospital presence in Northern Virginia strengthens Bon Secours’ ability to deliver high-quality, compassionate care to a new community in the Commonwealth. We’re proud to welcome Fauquier Health as a network partner and look forward to what we’ll accomplish together.”

Fauquier Health associates are expected to continue in their current roles following the transition. Integration efforts are underway to support the continuity of operations and identify opportunities alongside hospital leaders, medical staff and associates that will enhance health care services, capabilities and patient experience.

Following the closing, Fauquier Health is expected to continue normal operations under the leadership of Rebecca Segal, president of Fauquier Health. The hospital is expected to continue providing its current range of inpatient and outpatient services to the Warrenton community.

“Fauquier Health has been caring for this community for more than a century, and we’re proud of the legacy that generations of our physicians, nurses, associates and community members have built together,” said Segal. “We’re excited to begin this next chapter with Bon Secours and look forward to all that we can accomplish together while continuing to provide the care our patients, families and community know and trust.”

As a network partner of Bon Secours, Fauquier Health will benefit from being connected to an established health system with a strong presence across the Commonwealth of Virginia. The hospital will have access to additional clinical expertise, operational resources and strategic investments designed to support its long-term growth and preserve health care access for the community.

Bon Secours now operates 12 hospitals, as well as several freestanding emergency departments, two dozen urgent care clinics and hundreds of primary and specialty care locations serving communities across Hampton Roads, Richmond, Blue Ridge, Southern Virginia, the Northern Neck and Northern Virginia.
