Bon Secours has named Leanne M. Yanni, M.D., FACP, as chief medical officer of ambulatory care for the Bon Secours Richmond market. In this role, Dr. Yanni will provide physician leadership for Bon Secours in Richmond, focusing on ambulatory sites, population health, and care transitions, including palliative care.

Dr. Yanni brings more than 20 years of health care leadership experience to her new role. Since first joining the health system in 2011 as medical director of palliative care, Dr. Yanni has held a variety of leadership roles. While her new market role will be focused on ambulatory care, Dr. Yanni will continue as the vice president of Medical Affairs for Bon Secours - St. Mary’s Hospital and Bon Secours - Richmond Community Hospital, providing physician leadership and medical oversight for both hospitals.

Dr. Yanni earned her medical degree from State University of New York (SUNY) Health Science Center at Syracuse. Currently, she is pursuing a master’s degree in health care management from Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health.

Dr. Yanni is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in both internal medicine as well as hospice and palliative medicine. In addition, Dr. Yanni has been recognized by her peers as a Top Doctor in Richmond Magazine’s annual Top Doctors feature every year since 2009.
