Bon Secours has named Craig Schmidt as chief operating officer (COO) for the Bon Secours Hampton Roads market, effective June 6. In this role, Schmidt will lead the market’s operational projects within its facilities and will be key in overseeing the growth and vision for Bon Secours Hampton Roads.

Schmidt first joined the ministry 19 years ago and most recently served as the vice president and chief operating officer for The Jewish Hospital – Mercy Health in Cincinnati, Ohio, part of Bon Secours Mercy Health. Over the years, he has served in a variety of leadership positions including as the regional director of rehabilitation services and the director of ancillary services, as well as director of operations, for Mercy Health – Fairfield Hospital, part of Bon Secours Mercy Health, in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Schmidt earned his bachelor’s degree from The Ohio State University and his Doctor of Physical Therapy from the University of St. Augustine in Florida.
