The annual Best Hospitals rankings and ratings, now in their 30th year, are designed to assist patients and their doctors in making informed decisions about where to receive care for challenging health conditions or for common elective procedures.

“Bon Secours St. Francis Health System is honored to receive this recognition by US News & World Report in its best hospitals listings,” says Matt Caldwell, the Greenville Market President for Bon Secours. “It speaks to the quality, compassionate care the physicians, nurses, and clinical staff provide to our patients day in and day out. This is an honor for all of us.”

Bon Secours St. Francis Health System earned high performing ratings for common adult procedure and conditions in abdominal aortic aneurysm repair, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), colon cancer surgery, heart bypass surgery, heart failure, as well as hip and knee replacements. These rating are recognition of care that was significantly better than the national average, as measured by factors such as patient outcomes.

The U.S. News Best Hospitals methodologies in most areas of care are based largely on objective measures such as risk-adjusted survival and discharge-to-home rates, volume, and quality of nursing, among other care-related indicators.
