Dr. Opakunle was born in Lagos, Nigeria and immigrated to the United States in 2008. He received his undergraduate degree from Minnesota State University, Mankato. Afterwards, he attended medical school at New York College of Podiatric Medicine. He then completed a three-year advanced reconstructive foot and ankle podiatry surgical residency at Emory Decatur Hospital, Atlanta, GA. During his residency, he was humble to serve as chief resident during his final year.
Dr. Opakunle is a faculty member of the Podiatry Institute, a non-profit education foundation recognized internationally for its leading role in the advancement of podiatric medicine and surgery. He actively lectures at national meetings and is a contributing author to the Podiatry Institute’s annual textbook with numerous publications. He has volunteered in multiple marathon races in both Atlanta and New York.
Dr. Opakunle is excited to provide care to patients in Greenville and surrounding areas, he looks forward to interacting with everyone in the community. His expertise includes all aspects of foot and ankle management including diagnosis and management of foot and ankle pathologies.
Outside of the office, he enjoys spending time with his family, swimming and playing soccer (the real football).
