Nicholas Schey, MD
Dr. Schey was born and raised in Rochester, New York. His first passion was music, but he decided to pursue medicine in order to better serve others through his work. After completing training and attaining certification by the American Board of Pediatrics in 2011, Dr. Schey worked in varied settings including as a pediatric hospitalist in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and as an emergency physician in San Juan, Puerto Rico, where he learned to speak Spanish. He ultimately found his stride working in community pediatrics in the Tampa Bay, Florida, area in 2014.
Dr. Schey tries to understand each family's unique situation and concerns, then help them understand how they can help their children be healthy and thrive. He hopes to use interactions in the office as a seed for growing a healthier community at large. Dr. Schey's work as a pediatrician is second in priority only to his family including two young daughters, which is what led him to relocate to Richmond, Virginia, and join Bon Secours in 2019. He enjoys playing ice hockey and running.
