Mike earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy from Virginia Commonwealth University and a B.S degree in Human Nutrition, Foods and Exercise with a Science emphasis and Chemistry minor from Virginia Tech. He has been practicing as a Physical Therapist in the Richmond area since 2006, and has served as an Athletic Trainer for numerous high school, collegiate, and local sporting events since 2003.
Mike has completed rigorous training to attain advanced certifications in Manual Physical Therapy (MPT) from the University of St. Augustine and in Post-Concussion Management (AIB-CON) from the American Institute of Balance. He is the Clinical Supervisor at Physical Therapy at the Bon Secours Washingon Redskins Training Center, a part of Bon Secours St. Mary's Hospital.
He enjoys using this “hands-on” approach with advanced examination and treatment strategies to target the source of your problem. In addition to working with athletes, Mike has extensive experience treating post-surgical cases and works with your surgeon to achieve optimal results. Although some injuries are best managed surgically, he believes in the importance of physical therapy to restore optimal functional performance, in an effort to avoid surgical intervention. Mike will work with you diligently to develop an individualized treatment plan to help achieve your specific goals.
Outside of the clinic, Mike enjoys an active lifestyle playing basketball, soccer, golf, hiking, running and most of all, spending time with his wife and children.
