Dr. Mary L. Falterman is board certified in Pediatrics and Pediatric Cardiology. A 1984 graduate of the Medical University of South Carolina, she completed residency in pediatrics at University of Texas, in Austin, TX. After completing a pediatric cardiology fellowship at MCV in 1991, she joined Pediatric Cardiology of Virginia. In addition to clinical practice, she remains active in coordinating pediatric cardiology programs in the community. Dr.Falterman is a Visiting Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Virginia School of Health Sciences.
Dr. Falterman’s professional interests include non-invasive pediatric cardiology. She is also interested in child and adolescent inherited/acquired cardiovascular risk factors and manages the groups Children's Cholesterol Clinic as well as the groups Pacemaker patients.
She has been recognized on numerous occasions and most recently in 2011, by her peers in the Top Doctors survey by the Richmond Magazine. She has also been recognized in the “Guide to America’s Top Cardiologists”. She has been very active with the American Heart Associations and has held several offices.
Her personal interests include cycling and hiking with her husband and son.
