Jo-Anne Guzman-Lee, MD, graduated from the University of the Philippines College of Medicine in 1994. She moved to the United States in 1995 to complete her residency in internal medicine at Saint Michael’s Medical Center in Newark, New Jersey. She has been practicing in an outpatient setting since 1999, when she became board-certified in internal medicine. Before joining Bon Secours, she worked on the Eastern Shore of Virginia as well as in downtown Norfolk. She speaks Tagalog and is also conversant in medical Spanish. Dr. Guzman-Lee loves the challenge of managing chronic illnesses, and she appreciates the relationships she develops with her patients along the way.
Dr. Guzman-Lee resides in Virginia Beach with her husband and two young sons. During her free time, she volunteers at the Virginia Beach Free Clinic and is a member of the Philippine Medical Association.
