Gerald earned his Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Lowell Massachusetts. He was in the inaugural class and was awarded his Master of Health Science Degree and Physician Assistant Certificate from Quinnipiac College in Hamden, Connecticut in 1996. Prior to joining Bon Secours Cardiovascular and Thoracic Specialists in 2013, Gerald was the chief physician assistant for the Interventional Radiology Division of Medical Center Radiologists. He was also a part-time team member with the Sentara Medical Group Pulmonary Critical Care service following 9 years of prior cardiothoracic surgery experience.
Gerald is board certified with special recognition in primary care and surgery from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants and is a Licensed Physician Assistant in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Gerald holds current Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification and Drug Enforcement Administration registration. He's an active member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and the Virginia Academy of Physician Assistants and is a student preceptor for the EVMS physician assistant program. In his spare time he enjoys being outdoors and spending quality time with his family.
