About

Dr. Chad E. Aarons is a member of the Pediatric Team at Bon Secours – Tuckahoe Orthopedics.

Prior to medical school, he earned a master’s degree in physical therapy from the University of Sciences in Philadelphia. He received his medical degree from University of Miami School of Medicine. He served both his internship and residency at the University of Miami/Jackson Health System in Miami. From there, he advanced to Atlanta Scottish Rite Hospital where he was awarded a Pediatric Orthopaedic fellowship. (A fellowship is an extra year of specialized training that a physician chooses to pursue after completing medical school and residency training.)

Dr. Aarons and his medical staff treat children with injuries, diseases, and conditions of the musculoskeletal system. He devotes his practice entirely to children ranging in age from newborns to 21 years. He is trained to treat any orthopedic condition involving children and is especially interested in scoliosis, sports injuries, and trauma. Many of his patients benefit from conservative treatments and less invasive surgeries. When surgery is required, he offers the most up-to-date surgical procedures, like the robotic spine surgery and the Magec rod system that allows for spine surgery in those under the age of 10. Dr. Aarons teaches robotic spine surgery nationally.

“I like to combine my prior background in physical therapy with my medical knowledge to treat all aspects of the patient and offer them the best non-operative and operative treatments for their specific condition.”

He participates in orthopedic research and has published numerous papers. Recent publications are about pediatric ACL injuries and pediatric elbow injuries. He volunteers with the World Pediatric Project doing scoliosis surgery on patients that would otherwise have no access to care.

Dr. Aarons grew up in southern New Jersey. He first lived in Richmond while pursuing his undergraduate studies at University of Richmond. He has always enjoyed sports, especially soccer and ice hockey. As a teenager, he also experienced sports from a different perspective as he served as a student athletic trainer. He was an All-State soccer player in high school and continues to play soccer recreationally. Dr. Aarons is married and has three daughters. In his free time, he enjoys exercising, woodworking and spending time with his family.
