Biography

Dr. Epps attended Virginia Commonwealth University for his undergraduate degree. He received his medical degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine and completed his completed his internal medicine internship at Inova Fairfax Hospital, located in Falls Church, Virginia. Dr. Epps completed his neurology residency with Georgetown University Medical Center and the Washington Veterans Affairs Medical Center. In addition, he completed a fellowship in epilepsy at the University of Virginia Health System. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. Prior to joining Bon Secours Medical Group, Dr. Epps had been in private practice for eight years in Richmond and is on the board of directors for the Epilepsy Foundation of Virginia. Dr. Epps was the chief of neurology at CJW's Medical Center, where he played a key role in the development of the neuroscience and stroke program. Dr. Epps specializes in neurological disorders such as migraines and other headache syndromes, stroke, Alzheimer's, multiple sclerosis, and has a subspecialty emphasis on seizures and epilepsy. He is also able to interpret carotid and transcranial ultrasounds as part of stroke and cerebrovascular care.
