Quality

Inspired by the example and tradition of the Sisters of Bon Secours, we strive to bring persons and communities to health and wholeness. In addition to providing health care services, we draw on our Catholic social justice tradition to contribute to the health of our communities, our nation and our world.

To us, this means looking beyond our walls and doing what we can to make our community a better and healthier place to live.  We serve as the hands and feet that bring our Mission to life as we inspire outreach and bring action to our communities.

Many things must come together to create a healthy community, including access to quality health care, functional and affordable housing, education, employment, public safety, and recreational and cultural opportunities. Bon Secours is developing long-term, collaborative relationships and plans with the people who live and work in the communities we serve to improve the quality of life and health.

Building a healthy community requires a systemic approach that addresses all basic human needs.

  1. Co-Create Healthy Communities. We recognize that the factors which drive health outcomes extend well beyond the scope of traditional health care services. Thus, we commit to improve the health of our communities through partnership and collaboration with a broad range of constituencies including committed community residents.
  2. Be Person Centric. We recognize that those whom we serve are increasingly engaged in their own care and are seeking convenience, affordability and reliability. Thus, we commit to anticipate and respond to the changing expectations of health consumers, and to ensure that we engage each person in an individualized plan for health with a focus on prevention and wellness.
  3. Serve Those who are Vulnerable. We recognize, by our Catholic identity, that the struggle for a more humane world is not an option, but an integral part of spreading the Gospel. Thus, we commit to serve those who are vulnerable in many ways, addressing health disparities, sustaining global ministries, healing the environment and working to end violence and oppression.
  4. Strengthen our Culture and Capabilities. We recognize that the health care delivery system is undergoing rapid change with increasing complexity. Thus, we commit to liberate the potential of our people by strengthening individual and collective capabilities with respect to ministry leadership, knowledge, analytics, innovation and finances.

We want you to feel confident that you will receive the finest possible care when you come to us. Anything less would fall short of what the Sisters who founded our health system expect from us — and of what we expect from ourselves.

Hospital Quality Measures

As part of Bon Secours commitment to transparency and quality, we welcome the public to examine our quality scores and compare our data with other facilities.

We take quality reporting seriously and our clinical data reflects our dedication to providing our patients with the highest quality care. Awards and patient testimonials show the exceptional quality of our services, but our hospital quality measures reaffirm it. In fact, our quality indicators rival those of health care organizations across the country, with many outcomes that are significantly higher than the national and state-wide averages.

If you want more information about our clinical outcomes, we invite you to examine these reputable sites and compare our hospitals, physicians, and long-term care facilities with those of our competitors.
