Carrie received her Masters of Science in Physical Therapy from the Medical College of Virginia, Virginia Commonwealth University in 1997. Her specialty and passion is providing rehabilitation to patients with cancer. She received her initial Lymphedema training and cancer rehabilitation experience while working at Massey Cancer Center. In 2012 she created a Cancer Rehabilitation continuing education course, which she teaches nationwide through North American Seminars, Inc.
In 2016 she joined Bon Secours Physical Therapy and has created cancer rehabilitation programs in the Richmond and Hampton Roads markets. She continues to work towards increasing access to these programs, and advance the knowledge of physical rehabilitation for cancer survivors throughout the community by providing in-services to medical providers.
Carrie is a regular contributor and speaker to local area lymphedema and cancer support groups, including the Susan G. Komen’s Central Virginia Breast Cancer Coalition. She has presented lecture series to both VCU and Mary Baldwin University Doctoral Physical Therapy students, and presented at the 2016 American College of Rehabilitative Medicine Conference on Chemo-Induced Peripheral Neuropathy. She is a member of the American College of Rehabilitative Medicine (ACRM), the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA), Oncology section and is certified through the Lymphology Association of North America (LANA).
