Presentations are held days, evenings and weekends throughout the year on current topics pertinent to your professional development. Tuition and Fees
8-Hour weekend seminar for Imaging Professionals. This program does not include clinical exams as required by the ARRT and may not meet criteria established by State Boards of Medicine. The fee is $99.00.

Candidates applying for the Bone Densitometry course must meet one of the following requirements to be eligible for enrollment:

Computed Tomography - (March 3rd, 4th, & 5th, 2010)
The CT program is presented in a workshop format designed to instruct technologists and radiography students on theory and processes used in CT. The cost of registration is $599; lunch is on your own. Classes are held over a 3 day period; Wednesday and Thursday from 9:00 am. - 7:30 pm. and Friday from 9:00am - 7:00pm. Days and times may vary slightly.

Magnetic Resonance Imaging - TBA
The MRI program is a 16 week course that meets one night per week for 3.5 hours. The program is made up of four sections at a cost of $200.00 each. Two sections are taught in the first half of the program; the remaining two sections are taught in the second half of the program. Total cost of the didactic course is $800.00. Books are an additional fee and must be purchased prior to class. CE credits are awarded to individuals completing the program. To request an application contact stacy_whittington@bshsi.org.

Mammography (Offered in March and October of each year) next schedule date October 20-24, 2009
The mammography program is a 40-Hour weekend workshop offered 2 times per year. Classes are over a 5 day period; Tuesday through Friday from 9:00 am - 7:30pm and Saturday from 9:00 am - 4:30 pm. Days and times may vary slightly.
This program is designed to meet the MQSA 40 hour education requirement for practice. This program does not include clinical exams as required by the ARRT. *Participants can enroll in supplemental clinical education courses which are available upon request for additional cost; see clinical education information. The workshop fee is $500; lunch is on your own.

Clinical Education (an additional fee is required)
Clinical education rotations are offered to Imaging Professionals for advanced modalities in order to satisfy the clinical requirements for credentialing by the ARRT. Hours of clinical education include day, evening and weekend, depending on clinical site availability and student preference. Mammography hours are available only during the weekdays 7:30 am – 4:30 pm. Clinical education opportunities through the school are only offered for the candidate to meet the minimum requirement of exams for the ARRT competency requirements.
Students who wish to enroll in clinical instruction are required to complete a physical, a criminal background check, and a drug-screen as required by the Bon Secours Richmond Health System. An additional fee for screening is the responsibility of the student. The clinical fee for qualified applicants is $225.00 for 250 hours of clinical experience.
Limited Licensure Technologists
Limited license technologists are not eligible to apply/enroll in the MRI, CT, BD, Mammography or clinical courses in the advanced modality programs. Individuals must be ARRT certified or hold a comparable credential for enrollment.

This course is for technologists who have maintained an active status (CE compliant) but have been out of the clinical field for an extended amount of time and wish to re-enter. Clinical assignments will include the operating room, portables, digital imaging and fluoroscopy. |
