gynecological oncology

A woman’s journey in life is exciting, challenging, and full of surprises. Bon Secours Virginia’s goal is to support and guide you along the way. We want you to discuss health care options openly with your gynecologist and make choices that suit you. Our physicians, certified nurse-midwives, nurses, physician assistants, and office staff understand women’s needs and always are ready to listen and help.

Being an adult means new beginnings and new considerations, especially with your health care. It’s a good idea to get an annual pelvic exam and to discuss with medical professionals preventing and treating yeast and sexually transmitted infections. We also can help with risk assessment by creating for you a unique screening plan for conditions, like cervical, uterine, and ovarian cancer. If treatment is needed, non-surgical, surgical, and minimally invasive therapeutic options are available. We always will work with you and your family to find the best approach.

During these years, parenthood, fertility, childbirth, nursing, and post-partum health, too. We share your excitement with these milestones and can provide reliable information and resources.

Other issues we can help with include:

  • Anorgasmia, painful intercourse, and other sexual dysfunction;
  • Sexual abuse;
  • Relationships;
  • Vulvodynia;
  • Fecal, urinary, overactive, or stress incontinence;
  • Pre-pregnancy counseling and planning;
  • Post-pregnancy and parenting support;
  • Depression, including post-partum; and
  • Anxiety.
