RideFinders is a division of the GRTC network, a non-profit organization that is trying to get fewer cars on the road, improve air quality and increase transportation efficiency in Central Virginia.
They can assist you with setting up a carpool or vanpool, provide bus information, and even provide rides home if you bike or walk to work but can't get home to due things like inclement weather.
Carpooling: Whether you need rides every day or twice a week, can drive or can't, RideFinders can help you find the perfect person to split the commute with. Find out more and register today!
Vanpooling: This program brings together a minimum of 7 people commuting more than 25 miles to work. Finding a vanpool to join is free, but once you decide to join there are monthly dues that cover the cost of maintaining the vehicle, gas and parking.
Bus: The GRTC is a great alternative to driving to work. RideFinders assists with the GRTC programs and sells their transit fare media.
Biking and Walking: RideFinders provides an Emergency Ride Home service. If you choose to bike or walk to work and end up needing a ride home they can provide emergency rides for you. Your first three rides are free and after that it is $5 per ride.
