Dr. Somers attended the University of Virginia for her undergraduate degree. She received her medical degree from the Medical College of Virginia – Virginia Commonwealth University location in Richmond, where she went on to complete her Pediatric internship and residency. Dr. Somers is board certified by the American Academy of Pediatrics and a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics Section on Breastfeeding.
