Shannon Richard received her undergraduate degree at Virginia Commonwealth University with a major in therapeutic recreation and a minor in psychology. In December of 2003, she received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy, from MCV at VCU. She has been trained in the TheraSuit method and intensive therapy. She also holds an Early Intervention Certification and is a member of the APTA. Shannon’s passion has always been pediatric physical therapy. She had the opportunity to work in a variety of pediatric settings before joining the Richmond Hope Therapy Center family in 2008. Her dedication to helping improve the lives of children with special needs comes, in part, from her experiences as the parent of a child with special needs. She brings that understanding, knowledge and compassion to her work every day.
