George A. Parker, MD, FACS
Dr. Parker is a graduate of Boston University School of Medicine in Massachusetts. He completed a surgical internship and a general surgery residency at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina.In 1980, he began practicing surgery in Richmond; from 1990 to 1993, he served as professor and chairman of surgical oncology at the Medical College of Virginia. In 1993, he served as professor and chairman of the Department of Surgery at Eastern Virginia Medical School. He is a past governor of the American College of Surgeons and clinical professor of surgical care of cancer patients and is actively involved in the American Cancer Society, the American Society of Clinical Oncology and the Society of Surgical Oncology.
Dr. Parker is board-certified in general surgery and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. His special medical interests include general surgery and surgical oncology. He has a particular interest and expertise in the management of complex cancer cases.
