Jason Hull, MD
Dr. Jason R. Hull is a member of the Joint Replacement Team at Tuckahoe
Orthopaedics. He earned his medical degree from Medical College of Virginia /
Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) in 1999. After completing his orthopaedic
surgery residency at VCU, he was awarded a fellowship in adult reconstruction of
the hip and knee at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. (A fellowship is a specialized
training program that a physician chooses to pursue after completing medical school
and residency training.) Dr. Hull recently joined Tuckahoe Orthopaedics
after spending seven years on the faculty in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery
at VCU. He was a recipient of the Kenneth Davis, MD award for teaching excellence
in the orthopaedic surgery residency program.
Dr. Hull specializes in adult reconstruction of the hip and knee, which includes:
- Treatment of hip and knee problems arising from arthritis and other inflammatory
conditions, injuries and trauma, and some congenital / developmental conditions.
- Treatment of failed total hip and knee replacements.
- Treatment of infected hip and knee replacements.
Many of his patients benefit from conservative treatments and less invasive surgeries. When surgery is required, he is skilled and experienced in total hip and knee replacement, complex revision total hip and knee replacement, partial knee replacement, and joint preserving procedures such as osteotomies of the hip and knee.
Dr. Hull grew up in Richmond. He is a graduate of the University of Richmond, where he majored in chemistry and played football before suffering a “career ending” knee injury that spawned his interest in orthopaedic surgery.
