Dr. Hennessey attended Virginia Commonwealth University for his undergraduate degree. He received his medical degree from the Medical College of Virginia/Virginia Commonwealth University. Dr Hennessey completed his Neurology residency at the Medical College of Virginia/Virginia Commonwealth University where his third year he was the Chief Resident. In addition, Dr. Hennessey completed a Neuro-Ophthalmology fellowship from the Medical College of Virginia/Virginia Commonwealth University. Dr. Hennessey is a diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. Dr Hennessey interests include migraines, dementia, movement disorders, multiple sclerosis, seizures, stroke and other neurological disorders found in adults. He also has the special emphasis on Neuro-Ophthalmology. He has been trained to administer Therapeutic Botox to patients with intractable migraines. He has received training to interpret Carotid Dopplers, Transcranial Dopplers and EEG recordings. Prior to joining Bon Secours Medical Group, Dr. Hennessey had been in private practice for 29 years in Richmond.
