Robert J. Brager, MD
A native of Bethesda, Maryland, Dr. Brager graduated from Duke University and the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. He completed his internship and ENT residency at Georgetown University Hospital. Dr. Brager is certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology and a member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery, the Richmond Academy of Medicine and the Virginia Society of Otolaryngology.



Matthew A. Bridges, MD
Dr. Bridges is double board-certified in otolaryngology/head and neck surgery and facial plastic/reconstructive surgery. He specializes in surgery of the ears, nose, and throat including nasal and sinus surgery, septal deviation/perforation repair, tonsillectomy/adenoidectomy, ear tube placement, thyroid/parathyroid surgery, neck masses, head and neck cancer surgery, and voice surgery. Additionally, he offers facial plastic surgery including rhinoplasty and revision rhinoplasty, facial lesion excision and reconstruction, scar revision, otoplasty, and facial cosmetic surgery. Dr. Bridges graduated with Highest Distinction from the University of Virginia, and continued studies there earning his medical degree. He completed his residency in Otolaryngology–Head & Neck Surgery at Virginia Commonwealth University/Medical College of Virginia and his fellowship in Facial Plastic Surgery at the University of Texas at Houston.

Alan J. Burke, MD
A native of the British Isles, Dr. Burke graduated from the University of London and the Royal London Hospital Medical College. He completed his internship at Emory University and his ENT residency at Wake Forest University School of Medicine. Dr. Burke has completed fellowship training in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery at the Oregon Health Sciences University. Dr. Burke is certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology, board-certified by the American Academy of Facial and Plastic Reconstructive Surgery and a member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery.

Patrick J. Gibbons. MD
Dr. Gibbons was raised in Chatham, New Jersey. He graduated from The Johns Hopkins University and then obtained his medical degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He completed his residency in Otolaryngology – Head & Neck Surgery at Virginia Commonwealth University/Medical College of Virginia. He was in private practice in Roanoke, Virginia for five years before returning to the Richmond area in 2006. Dr. Gibbons is married and has two children, Claire and Conor. In his spare time, he enjoys hiking, fly fishing and playing ice hockey.

Clifton C. Hickman, MD, FACS
A native of Danville, Virginia, Dr. Hickman graduated from Duke University and the University of Illinois School of Medicine. He completed his internship at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio, and his ENT residency at Ohio State University. Dr. Hickman is certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology and a Fellow in the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Hickman is also a member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery, the Richmond Academy of Medicine, the Medical Society of Virginia, the Virginia Society of Otolaryngology and the Richmond Eye & ENT Society. He is a past president of the Virginia Society of Otolaryngology and the Richmond Eye & ENT Society.

Jim S. Lim, MD
A native of South Korea, Dr. Lim graduated from Johns Hopkins University and New York University School of Medicine. He completed his internship and ENT residency at New York University Medical Center. Dr. Lim is certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology and a member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery, the Richmond Academy of Medicine and the Virginia Society of Otolaryngology. Dr. Lim speaks fluent Spanish.


Michael R. Perlman, MD, FACS
A native of San Francisco, Dr. Perlman graduated from the University of Oregon and the University of Kansas School of Medicine. He completed his internship at San Francisco General Hospital and his ENT residency at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Dr. Perlman also served in the United States Navy Medical Corps. Certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology and a Fellow in the American College of Surgeons, Dr. Perlman is also a member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery, the Richmond Academy of Medicine, the Medical Society of Virginia and the Virginia Society of Otolaryngology.

Thomas C. Robertson, MD, FAAOA
A native of Lynchburg, Virginia, Dr. Robertson graduated from Davidson College and the Medical College of Virginia. He completed his internship and ENT residency at the Virginia Commonwealth University Medical Center. Dr. Robertson is certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology. He is a member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, the American Medical Association, the Medical Society of Virginia, and the Richmond Academy of Medicine.


David R. Salley, MD
A native of Slidell, Louisiana, Dr. Salley graduated from University of Richmond and the Medical College of Virginia. He completed his Internship and ENT Residency at the Virginia Commonwealth University Medical Center. Dr. Salley is Board Certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology. He is a member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery, the Richmond Academy of Medicine and the Medical Society of Virginia.


Nicholas G. Tarasidis, MD, FACS
A native of Radford, Virginia, Dr. Tarasidis graduated from the University of Richmond and the Medical College of Virginia. He completed his internship and residency at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Dr. Tarasidis is certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology and a Fellow in the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Tarasidis is also a member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery, the Medical Society of Virginia, the American Medical Association, Richmond Academy of Medicine and the Virginia Society of Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery. He served on the Virginia Board of Audiology and Speech Language Pathology and the Board of Childhood Speech, Language and Hearing Center. He is also a member and past president of Richmond Eye and ENT Society.

James C. Tyson, MD
A native of New York, Dr. Tyson graduated from the State University of New York at Binghamton and New York Medical College. He completed his internship at St. Vincent's Hospital and Medical Center and his ENT residency at New York University Medical Center. Dr. Tyson is certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology and a member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery, the Richmond Academy of Medicine and the Virginia Society of Otolaryngology.


Daniel J. Van Himbergen, M.D., FAAOA
A native of Louisville, Kentucky, Dr. Van Himbergen graduated from Vanderbilt University and the University of Louisville School of Medicine. He completed his internship and ENT residency at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Dr. Van Himbergen is certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology. He is a member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, the American Academy of Otolaryngic Allergy, the Richmond Academy of Medicine, and the Virginia Society of Otolaryngology.
