echocardiogram (ECHO)

3-Dimensional Echocardiography (3-D). This enhanced ultrasound capability provides more specific diagnostic information. It is used in conjunction with 2-D echocardiography to evaluate the heart from many viewpoints; as if holding the heart in your hand and rotating it to view the heart and valves. 3-D echo also provides better visualization of the anatomy and function of the heart’s valves.
