Early-detection imaging increases the likelihood of positive outcomes.
At Bon Secours, we make it a priority to stay on the leading edge of diagnostic imaging technology. Advanced technology produces more detailed images and identifies abnormalities that might otherwise go undetected. This increases the probability of early detection of disease and other abnormalities, which increases the likelihood of positive outcomes for our patients.
We pride ourselves in providing a patient-friendly atmosphere with fast and accurate turnaround time for test results. The radiology services we offer are listed in the services section of the website. There you will also find preparation steps for the test for which you are scheduled. Please remember that you must have a written prescription from your doctor to have any of these tests.
Imaging services are conveniently located throughout the Richmond metro area.

Preparing for a Mammogram
If you are here for a mammogram, this may be your first or you may have had many. Either way, your privacy is of utmost importance to us. The first step in preparing you for your exam is to have you undress from the waist up and put on a gown in a private dressing room. Unless otherwise instructed by the technologist, your gown will open in the front so that the technologist can take one arm out at a time, keeping you covered on the other side during each image. You will also be asked to use a special wipe to remove any powder or deodorant you may have on (which may affect your images if it is not removed). Some of our patients are scheduled for more than one imaging study in the same day. Depending on the anticipated length of your visit today, you also may be given a robe to wear while waiting in between exams. You may either wait in your dressing room or one of our gowned waiting areas, where you may have enough time to enjoy tea or coffee. During your visit today, the technologist will review your discharge instructions with you, which will inform you when to expect your results and what to do should you have any additional questions after you leave. It is the goal of the WIC to have had provided you with truly EXCELLENT service, so please let the technologist know if you have any suggestions on how we could improve in the future. Recognition for our staff and the important work they do is most appreciated, and we want to hear from you! If you have any questions, please call our central scheduling staff at (804) 627-5660.
X-rays do not need to be scheduled. All tests require a written physician's order. Depending upon your insurance, the test may require a referral authorization number from your insurance company prior to the exam.
Please arrive at least thirty minutes before your appointment time. If you cannot make your appointment, notify us as soon as possible so that we can reschedule. 24-hour notice is greatly appreciated.
Clear Answers to Your Health Concerns.

This report will be forwarded to your referring physician, who will discuss the test results directly with you. Please contact your referring physician for results.
