Classes

Pre-operation class. Bon Secours nurse will review with you how to prepare for surgery, when to report to the hospital and what to expect during the hospital stay. Pre-admission testing is at the end of the class which includes lab work, electrocardiogram and a chest X-ray. The class is scheduled for patients by their physician’s office. The pre-operation class is currently only for Hip and Knee replacement.

Seminars

We offer seminars for the Richmond community on a variety of orthopaedic and spine related topics. These seminars feature physicians discussing ground-breaking treatments and surgical procedures performed at the Orthopaedic Institute.

Physician Research & Training

The Bon Secours Orthopaedic Institute is dedicated to achieving orthopaedic excellence through clinical research and provider education. Physicians are engaged in research protocols to ensure the best possible care and outcome. Numerous seminars are held each year to keep the physician community abreast of the latest technologies and devices. Moreover, The Bon Secours Orthopaedic Institute serves the physician community as a training site for sports medicine and orthopaedic surgery fellows.

Orthopaedic Research of Virginia is an organization that performs various functions to advance orthopaedic care, teaching, and research.
