Memorial Regional opened its doors in 1998 to serve residents in suburban Hanover and Henrico Counties, rural Virginia’s Northern Neck, and the City of Richmond.

Nationally recognized for its stroke treatment, this 225-bed hospital has an inviting suburban campus and features a spectrum of healthcare services including obstetrics, comprehensive cardiac care and a 24-hour emergency room. A number of outpatient services including radiation therapy and rehabilitation, in addition to physician practices, are available at Hanover Medical Park. Our new on-site daycare facility is an attractive option for our employees and helps us recruit and keep our top healthcare professionals.

Cancer Institute
Comprehensive cancer diagnosis and treatment services at Memorial Regional offer patients the best possible outcomes through inpatient and ambulatory cancer services. Additionally, high-quality pathology and radiology, surgical oncology, medical oncology and radiation oncology services are available. Customized treatment options are delivered in a compassionate, healing environment by world-class physicians and care team specialists. Bon Secours Hospice and Palliative Care are offered with focus on the dignity and sanctity of life. Bon Secours Hospice is the oldest and only non-profit hospice in Richmond.

Heart and Vascular Institute
Memorial Regional Medical Center is five-star rated by HealthGrades®, an agency that studies and rates patient outcomes for over 5,000 hospitals in the U.S. It is rated in the top 10 percent in the country for cardiac care and cardiac surgery. Our team of physicians, world-class surgeons, nurses and technicians offer comprehensive cardiac services including prevention, digital diagnostics, treatment, surgery, recovery and wellness. We also have two cardiologists who specialize in electrophysiology.

Imaging Services
Memorial Regional utilizes leading-edge diagnostic imaging technology, including two 64-slice CTs and Signa HDx 3.0T MR system. Advanced technology produces more detailed images and identifies abnormalities more readily. Memorial Regional Medical Center offers a friendly atmosphere with fast and accurate turn-around time for test results. A full spectrum of radiology services are offered, including the latest in interventional radiology.

"No Wait" Emergency Services
Memorial Regional now offers "No Wait" emergency care, whereby a member of our medical staff will see you immediately after check-in. Our "No Wait" emergency services are the first offered in Central Virginia. The Emergency Department has a state-of-the-art emergency care area with the latest digital cardiac monitoring equipment, CT scanner and electronic records.

Orthopaedic Institute
Memorial Regional’s team of physicians, nurses and specialists offer a comprehensive and compassionate approach to the treatment of orthopaedic injuries and diseases. Prevention, assessment and rehabilitation are emphasized. Specialties are offered in sports medicine and spine care.

Stroke Services
Memorial Regional Medical Center received a five-star and "Top 100" hospital rating for its stroke treatment from HealthGrades®. In 2007, Memorial Regional also received the HealthGrades® Best in Nation Award for Stroke Care. Patient services include diagnostic evaluation, medical therapies and rehabilitation.

Surgical Services
Memorial Regional provides specialized surgical care ranging from complex heart procedures to laser and reconstructive treatments. The most advanced technology, including laparoscopic procedures and minimally invasive robotic surgery, is used to provide leading-edge treatments to gynecological and urological surgical patients in an environment of compassion. Thoracic Surgery Services
Memorial Regional is pleased to now provide a full spectrum of thoracic surgery services with the addition of Dr. Gregory Lockhart to the Bon Secours Medical Group. Specifically, Dr. Lockhart specializes in minimally invasive surgery, esophageal surgery, thoracic outlet syndrome, and thoracoscopic sympathectomy for hyperhidrosis.

Women’s and Children's Services
Our physicians and healthcare professionals provide women of all ages with complete diagnostic and treatment services, including advanced mammography and minimally invasive surgical options. Our birthing center provides physicians and certified nurse midwifery, certified lactation consultants, labor-delivery-recovery private suites, obstetrical critical care for high risk pregnancies, perinatology (maternal/fetal medicine) on site, and Love and Learn classes. Our neonatology services offer care for pregnant women at any gestational stage without imminent delivery, and for those with imminent delivery at 28 weeks or greater.
