Dr. Claydon brings highly specialized training as well as experience and dedication to Bon Secours Medical Group Women’s Specialty Center.
Dr. Claydon is board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She completed a three-year fellowship in female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey’s Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. This specialized training is focused on both surgical and nonsurgical treatment of pelvic floor disorders. She completed her residency at UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles and received her medical degree from the Medical College of Virginia at Virginia Commonwealth University.
She is dedicated to evidence-based medicine and is actively involved in clinical research. She serves as a peer reviewer for medical journals dedicated to pelvic floor disorders. She is an active member of the American Urogynecologic Society, Society for Female Urinary Incontinence and Urodynamics and the Society of Gynecologic Surgeons, serving on committees dedicated to the advancement of women’s pelvic health.
Prior to joining Bon Secours Medical Group, Dr. Claydon taught medical students and resident physicians at the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University. She continues her work with the International Organization for Women and Development (IOWD), surgically treating fistula patients in Africa.
